This close-up image of vibrant red, orange, yellow, green, and white coloration features microbial mats and mineral deposits. These striking colours result from extremophile microorganisms (particularly thermophilic bacteria) that thrive in different temperature zones of the hot spring outflow, combined with various mineral precipitates including silica, iron compounds, and sulphur. The irregular, porous textures and the presence of small, isolated pools within the mineral deposits point to ongoing hydrothermal activity and the continuous alteration of the landscape.
