Mineral mud’s survivor

 

During extremely dry periods, mineral-rich water that once pooled evaporates from this geothermal field leaving behind a cracked, white surface. The solitary plant continues to grow despite the harsh conditions by accessing subsurface moisture and nutrients common in geothermal regions, possibly aided by microclimates within the cracks. Its survival showcases the adaptability of plant life, likely a species suited to drought and high mineral concentrations, exploiting even the most marginal resources.
