Green hot spring

The green color of this geothermal hot spring is likely due to dissolved minerals, microbial life, or sulphur compounds present in the water. Sulphur and iron-rich minerals can create a greenish hue when mixed with acidic or hot water. Additionally, certain heat-loving bacteria and algae thrive in these extreme conditions. These often possess pigments, such as chlorophyll and carotenoids, which absorb and reflect light in ways that result in a green appearance.
