- Ethereal turquoise mineral stream
This small stream has a deep, glowing turquoise that feels way too vibrant for a natural stream. The stream’s color comes from a mix of minerals like copper, sulphur and silica. It’s also home to specialised bacteria and algae that live in the heat. The water looks especially vibrant because particles in the stream scatter sunlight, specifically bouncing back those blue and green tones.
I’ve been here a bunch of times, but I’ve only actually seen the water once. Usually, the streambed is completely dry.
