McLaughlins Mountain (Matukutūreia) is a highly modified scoria cone, rising to 73 metres. It is the southernmost volcano in the Auckland Volcanic Field. Nearby the cone is a small explosion crater (now a wetland) and tuff ring.

As of 2010, the water tank at the summit has been removed.
It is estimated that McLaughlins Mountain erupted approximately 50,000 years ago.
