- The Waterfall Cascading Into...
After trekking through a particularly rugged stretch of the South Island’s remote coastline, I decided to launch the drone to see what lay beyond the next headland. Right at the edge of its signal range, I spotted a waterfall plunging straight off the high cliffs and cascading directly into the surf below.
The real challenge, of course, was actually getting there. The terrain was brutal, but after a quick scout of the NZ Topo Map, I managed to pinpoint the feeder stream. Navigating the dense bush along the water’s edge was a mission in itself, and I had to move with some serious caution to make sure I didn’t end up being swept over the edge. Eventually, I broke through the treeline right at the cliff’s edge and managed to snag this shot.
