Goblin Forests of the lower North Island

 

In the lower North Island of New Zealand, within the Tararua Range, lies a “Goblin Forest.” The ancient trees dominate the landscape, with their trunks and branches adorned with thick carpets of vibrant green moss and lichens. Due to it’s elevation, a mist often shrouds the forest, creating a spooky atmosphere.
