Deep Shaft Cave

Deep Shaft Cave is a unique fractured basalt cavern characterised by a deep shaft and an exceptionally narrow, challenging entrance. Descent into the cave was achieved without the aid of ropes, but the presence of numerous loose lava blocks around the entrance and ceiling renders this cave extremely hazardous and exploration is strongly discouraged. Although the cave remains unsurveyed, the shaft extends to an estimated depth of 20 meters. At the cave’s base, two narrow passages diverge in separate directions. A potential connection between these passages could not be confirmed due to access difficulties.
