Thailand Jungle Trekking

Khao Sok National Park, Thailand / November 2016.

In early November, I visited Thailand to trek the jungles of Khao Sok. Located in the Surat Thani Province, Khao Sok is the largest area of virgin forest in southern Thailand. The park has more biodiversity than the Amazon Basin and is home to wild elephants, tigers, gaurs, leopards and more.

Our adventure started with an easy paddle along the Sok River, before trekking into the jungle.

The jungle environment was tough. Heavy downpours, leeches gauging on my blood and deadly snakes ready to pounce.

My guide crafting a bamboo cup.

My time in the jungle gave me the yearning for more. I hope to spend more time on an extended expedition into the deep jungle soon.

We also spent the day being tourists, visiting Phang Nga Bay and Ko Phi Phi Don.
